Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during our first session?
Your first session is often referred to as an intake session. During this time, I will ask you various questions to better understand your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history and any significant life events or challenges. This process allows me to assess how you are doing and start crafting a treatment plan that meets your needs.
One of my main goals is to build rapport. It is completely normal to feel nervous! Please know that I am trained to navigate these moments with patience and care. Our first session is also your opportunity to learn more about me, ask any questions you have and assess whether this feels like a good fit.
Do you take insurance?
Yes! I am in-network with Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna and United Healthcare. In the event that I am not in network with your insurance provider, I am happy to provide a super bill for submission to your insurance company.
How often do we meet?
The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs and schedules. It is typical to meet weekly or every other week. Sessions are 50 minutes long.
Do we meet in person or virtually?
I see clients both in-person and virtually - it is a matter of personal preference. Virtual therapy can be incredibly helpful and can make therapy more accessible. That being said, it’s not for everyone. I work to make online sessions as engaging and interactive as possible.
