About
Hello! I'm Maggie Anderson. I have over fourteen years of experience in the behavioral health field, working with individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from North Carolina State University in Raleigh. During a graduate internship, I discovered my passion for supporting individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Since then, I have worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings throughout the Triangle.
I take a collaborative and strengths-based approach to therapy, working alongside clients to help them feel understood and empowered in their growth. I focus on building meaningful connections and fostering hope for lasting change. My approach is whole-person and integrative, drawing from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, while also incorporating the stages of change model and harm-reduction principles. I honor each person’s autonomy, supporting them in defining what recovery and progress look like for themselves.
Above all, I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe sharing their stories, exploring challenges, and working toward positive transformation. I value teamwork and a strong therapeutic alliance, viewing therapy as a partnership grounded in trust, authenticity, and mutual respect.
As a native of Raleigh, I am deeply committed to my community. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, reading, cooking or enjoying the outdoors.
